Kris has been an inspector for 10 years. Before becoming and inspector he had 30 years of residential construction experience as a carpenter. He has been involved in both new construction and remodeling of all types. He knows and understands all aspects of construction. Through the remodeling experience he has learned how all aspects of a building work and come together in the construction process. He has also served as a pastor. This combination gives Kris a unique mixture of building knowledge and a concern for people to provide a fair and unbiased inspection at a competitive price. Kris is Licensed by the state of Illinois and practices the standards and code of Ethics of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.
Kris has been asked if a building can fail an inspection. The responsibility of a home inspection is not to pass or fail the building. It is an inspector's obligation to give a fair and unbiased report of what he finds. Therefore, Kris will not tell you if a build passes or fails, but will instead make mention of the good aspects, and the deficiencies of the building. He will also point out any areas that do not appear to be up to a normal standard of practice in the building industry. Kris' desire is to give you a clear picture of the condition of the building at the time of the inspection.
Kris encourages you to be at the inspection, that way you can ask any questions you may have. Also, he can help familiarize you with the working of the building.
